小分子(small molecules)是指分子量小于1000道爾頓(尤其小于400道爾頓)，并具有生物學功能的化合物。此類化合物與細胞因子和蛋白不同，其可直接穿過細胞膜進入細胞，進而發(fā)揮相應的功能，適用于各種屬的細胞。小分子化合物的作用靶點眾多，已廣泛應用于干細胞，類器官，免疫學，神經(jīng)生物學，表觀遺傳學，細胞凋亡，離子通道，腫瘤學和信號轉導等生命科學中諸多重要的研究領域。
——類器官培養(yǎng)中常用的小分子： |

❶ Gastrin I: 胃泌素是胃腸道一種非常重要的多肽類激素，主要由 G 細胞分泌。腸道及肝臟類器官培養(yǎng)時，需要添加胃泌素來延長類器官的存活時間。
❷ A83-01: Activin/NODAL/TGF-beta 通路抑制劑，其抑制 ALK5，ALK4 和 ALK7等激酶。一般用于肝臟、前列腺以及乳腺類器官的培養(yǎng)。
❸ Y27632: 是Rho相關絲氨酸-蘇氨酸蛋白激酶 (ROCK) 家族的小分子特異性抑制劑，可以阻止干細胞的凋亡，一般在種板培養(yǎng)的第一次加入，后續(xù)換液培養(yǎng)不必添加該小分子。
❹ SB202190: 是一種高效的 p38 MAPK 抑制劑，靶向作用于 p38α/β�？捎糜谖改c道、乳腺類器官的培養(yǎng)。
❺ Nicotinamide: 是一種B3維生素，是NAD 和 NADP的活性成分，在細胞生理學中發(fā)揮重要作用，可用于胃腸道、肝臟以及乳腺類器官的培養(yǎng)。
❻ Forskolin: 可以激活腺苷環(huán)化酶，常用于提高細胞內(nèi) cAMP 的水平。Forskolin 誘導多種類型細胞的分化并激活孕烷X受體 (PXR) 和法尼醇X受體(FXR)，可對心臟產(chǎn)生正性肌力作用，并具有血小板抗凝集和降壓作用。據(jù)報道，它與其他小分子聯(lián)合使用，可誘導成纖維細胞重編程為誘導多能性干細胞，在肝臟類器官培養(yǎng)的時候必須要添加。
❼ Prostaglandin E2: 前列腺素 E2，PGE2。PGE2調(diào)節(jié)許多生理系統(tǒng)，包括消化系統(tǒng)和免疫系統(tǒng)等。它與特異的受體結合后可介導細胞增殖、分化，在肝臟類器官和前列腺類器官培養(yǎng)時需要添加。
❽ CHIR99021: CHIR99021是糖原合成酶激酶3β抑制劑，可誘導人胚胎干細胞向內(nèi)胚層分化，在腎臟以及視網(wǎng)膜類器官培養(yǎng)時需要。
❾ N-acetyl-L-Cysteine: N-乙酰半胱氨酸，它是一種 ROS 抑制劑，具有抗氧化作用，在大多數(shù)類器官的培養(yǎng)過程中需要添加。
